On the evening of 22 December 2024, a barge of a towboat collided with two passenger boats anchored in the Jászai Mari tér port of BKV. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, but both vessels and the port were deteriorated, resulting in a significant property damage, a precise assessment of which is still underway.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision. The accident does not affect the traffic of BKV boats, the little sightseeing tours in the evening, including the timetable of the Christmas boat; tourist services run without interruption.
