Due to maintenance the Buda Castle Funicular does not operate between 7-11. October, 2024.
Travel with the Buda Castle Funicular and enjoy the spectacular panorama of the Danube!

Opening hours: 08:00 -22:00
Tickets are sold until 21:50
It runs continuously in every 5-10 minutes according to the passenger demand.
The Funicular is closed on every Monday on odd weeks during the period of the maintenance works, unless these Mondays are on public holidays. In this case, maintenance work will be performed on the first working day after the bank holiday.

* The Family daily ticket can be purchased by a family traveling with 2 Full price and 3 Discount price return tickets.
These tickets entitle you to two trips: one upward and one downward journey.
Any unused direction is valid for one year from the date of purchase in the case of a Full price and Discount price return ticket, while the Family daily ticket is only valid until the end of opening hours on the day of purchase.
Free travel for children under the age of 3.
Discounts for pensioners and other travel discounts are not available.
GROUP CHILDREN DISCOUNT ON THE BUDA CASTLE FUNICULAR:
Student groups of at least 10 people and their adult companions can use the Buda Castle Funicular with a children"s ticket!

Accessibility

The valley station is situated on Clark Ádám tér at the Buda side of the Chain Bridge beside the Tunnel.
The mountain station is located on Szent György tér between the Palace of Buda Castle and the Presidential Palace.
The lower station accessible via buses 16 and 105 and trams 19 and 41.
The upper station can be approached by buses 16, 16A and 116.
