Special public transport vehicles during the Car-Free Weekend
BKV parades both its newest and its heritage vehicles during the Car-Free Weekend. The aim of the event, which is related to the European Mobility Week - but postponed to this weekend due to the flood - is to promote environmentally friendly, sustainable means of transport.
The programme is enriched with a playbus with double articulation attracting the little ones, as well as with interactive presentations held by crime scene investigators and representatives of the railway safety group.
On Sunday, in the BKV shop, visitor can buy various useful and creative souvenirs related to transport.
BKV is committed to the energy-efficient operation of public transport. We believe that public transportation - with the renewal of the bus and trolleybus fleet, the modern CAF trams, the renovation of the metro lines - is not only environmentally friendly, but also a comfortable and convenient alternative to cars. For this reason, the company readily participates in the Mobility Week programme series aimed at fostering environmentally aware and sustainable urban transport, including the Car-Free Weekend.
