For the 50th anniversary of the serial operation of the Ikarus 280 bus, BKV renovated one specimen of the vehicle type of the first series, manufactured in 1973. From now on, the IK280 will bolster the heritage fleet.

Ikarus 280 has been the most successful articulated bus of the Ikarus factory, used worldwide.

In Hungary, the majority of vehicles of this type were put into circulation by BKV.

Along with the operation of the "prototype" that arrived at the end of 1971, Ikarus 280 buses transported passengers for more than fifty years and became part of the Budapest streetscape.
